vB question, thinking of purchasing

I'm currently using phpbb, and I'm thinking of switching to vBulletin. My question is regarding adding menu and text blocks to the forum. My current forum is at http://forums.exilera.com. The menu blocks to the left of the main forum body are a Mod that I installed. Can something like this be done with vBulletin, and if so, how? I was thinking of picking up a skin from vbstyles.com or a similar site. Will I be able to add menu items to these skins?

Yep, here's the link to it http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=91888. It will take you literally 15 seconds to install the hack. It should also work with all skins but you will have to double check that with the skin designer.

So as with the example image in the link, this hack will use the skin's layout for the box?

Would anyone happen to know off hand if this will work with vBStyle.com's Tech2 skin? I've posted stuff there on their forums and never received a response

I believe that hack should work on ANY skin if you edit the tempelates correctly.
