How big does the database grow?

Link to your forum so i can see the size/amount of posts etc, and then tell me the size of the db please

My database is 200mb big, including attachments, and I have over 100,000 posts.

Avatars and attachments are stored on the server.

I could prune this but I dont have a specific need to.

Correct, it does not. That is only the database. Your web files are a totally separate thing.

What should only be about 20megs? My site is over 4gigs, plus the mySQL database.

My actual database is about 400megs, as noted above. It will vary depending on how many users/posts/threads/etc that you have.

well the database just includes the user info and post info right? Minus all the php files and attachments, wouldn't the database be much smaller?

I don't know what you're asking. The datsbase can contain attachments, unless you use the option to move them to the file system, but they default to the database. Same with Avatars and Profile pictures.

if you do an SQL dump, the size of that text file is basically your database size. My SQL dump is about 70 mb right now, that's not including the php files. The database has a lot of info, including configuration, user info, posts info/text, thread info, PM text, style, etc. THe size of the database varies, as mentioned above, due to the amount of posts, users, PMs, and many other variables.
