    A Few Questions about vBulletin

I have a few questions about vBulletin. I already know that I'm wanting to use vBulletin as an internal bulletin board for a large number of users. I'd like to install it on a server that will NOT be used externally and will only be able to be accessed by employees of our company.

Is there any way to lock down logins - meaning that you only allow specific domains to register?

I might need help with getting vBulletin installed and up and running. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks for your time!

    Hello,

Thank you for your interest in the vBulletin forum software and for contacting vBulletin sales.

Yes, using our enhanced usergroup permissions and registration features you are able to fully control how people can (or can't) register and what they can and can not see.

But, unfortunatly you can't limit registrations coming from certain domain names. Perhaps through a plugin in version 3.5 this might be possible. But I am not aware of such a plugin to exist. I suggest to use an alternative: You can setup registration to be through a moderation queue. During registration an IP address is logged. As admin you can accept/decline registrations - you could lookup the IP address before accepting or declining their registration.

You can install vBulletin yourself - it is quite easy and we offer an indepth online manual to assist you, and if that is not enough we offer professional support by our trained staff; All free.

If you don't feel comfortable installing vBulletin yourself you can purchase our professional installation service where one of our staff does the installation for you. The costs are $135 per installation per license. You can order this during or after your forum software purchase. I suggest after, so you can try yourself first.

If you have more questions feel free to ask and we're looking forward to your purchase.

      Thank You

I am in the process of getting our web server registered on our internal network...DNS name, Static IP, etc.

I am trying to work out the logistics of all of this. I have run the test script to make sure that vBulletin will run on one of our boxes and it looks good to go.

Thank you for the quick response. I will be contacting you via the forums or phone very soon.
