Because one is legal and the other is not. If nothing else, morality should be your guide...and the fact that piracy *is* followed up on when located.

There are enough vB owners who do report illegal vB's. So nulled software isn't really that secure.

If you are in any doubt, just report it. All reports are checked before action is taken. If the site has a valid license, they will never be contacted if someone report them.

There is no way of knowing for sure if someone has a valid license or not.

PS A lot of boards work with a nulled version but actually do have a license. A lot of unlicensed owners choose to buy a license once contacted by the anti piracy team. They don't always take the effort to replace their software (which they should because a lot of nulled versions are buggy or contain backdoors.)

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

The prevalence of the "if I can get away with it then it's ok" attidude is scary. These people end up costing the paying customers more money.

Actually it will cost you more in the long run . If you get caught, someone from the piracy team will shut your site down

Check the admincp, and the top of the php files.

That would be difficult as a) you would have to have access to the admin cp on all sites and b) to see the contents of a php file you would have to download the files first.

Untrue, they can always tell if someone is running without a license even if the source is 'nulled'.
