Once you purchase a license, you can download the latest builds of both vBulletin 2 and 3. Although, vBulletin 3 is much better.

Thanks for the quick reply, It's just that 3 looks more complicated, but I guess you need to move with the times, once again thanks, I did the demo the other day but didn't have much time to look it over, being easter and all, only had 24 hours, but will buy one by the end of the week

Vb, Server with PHP 4.0.6, MySQL 3.23.33 thou Recommended PHP 4 (latest),MySQL 4.0.16 (minimum).
Operating Systems vB runs on are .. Solaris, Linux, BSD, Windows™

You dont need a domain name as you will get issued a IP address with most servers, so you can just use a IP, but yes a domain name to run from is alot better and safer.

          Thats it

GoDaddy is an exelent domain registrar as long as thats all you want, do not, under any circumstances purchase their hosting packages.

Can you give a guesstamint on what it will all cost?

                        vb 3.0.7

                        owner license

                        DN

                        webhosting

                        server

I want the best, but nothing I don't need, will prolly only have 50 members to start with, but as time goes maybe 500 to 600, or more.

                          Owned License, 160
Domain Name 10 Dollars (Just a estimate depending on where you buy it, you do not need to buy your domain name nad hosting fromt he same place, and I would suggest you dont)

A webhost and a webserver are on in the same. A host will provide you with space and bandwidth for you to put your website on.

A weberser is a computer you rent and get full control of, unless you already have a very popular host shared hosting should be fine.
