    IPB Problem.....

Let me tell a little story...

I registered on the IPB forum way back when.
Lost my PW. Requested a new one or old one be emailed. NEVER WORKED.
It asked me if I wanted to email their webmaster. I did that too. NO LUCK.

FINALLY, I had to reregister another acct to request the old acct be reset.
If that is any indication as to the way they do things, I am GLAD I WENT WITH vB

Hahaha oh my god, just because a lost password on their forum means their software is no good and you are glad you went with vB? Also I see you are online now under Bad_i_BILL and the problem is fixed minutes after the problem occured, http://forums.invisionpower.com/inde...&#entry1127685.

This sounds more like an attempt at bashing IPB rather than a pre-sales question.

I think Vort3x summed it up well.

This crap is getting annoying. It is impossible to say which one is better because it all suits the individual and the need. I love vB and I like IPB (even tho I dont have a license). I even like some of the free boards I use for other things since I only own one vB license. They are two excellent boards and that's it. Pick one you like a little better based on your needs and go with it. Put an end to all the lame "VB p0wnz IpB" and "iPB kills VB!!1!"

I completely agree. I have been a long time IPB user, and in my personal opinion I will never change. However I am not going to bash vB.

I merely went on as someone new TODAY to request a fix.

The lost PW problem has been going well over a week.
My email's to their webmaster have also gone over a week & unanswered.

I did not base my opinion in 5 minutes over just a PW.

Bashing? Well, if my experience sounds like bashing then there must be something wrong with IPB, don't ya think?

But again, how is this a pre-sale question for vBulletin?

This is to help those not yet a vB client hat may be reading here for feedback. Non-Clients have very limited access to the forum & wanted it where they could see it.

Ok, but how is that suppose to help potential customers of IPB or vB? Just because you lost your password doesn't offer any feedback/information about IPB. You losing your password is not the fault of IPS or their software, it is your's.

My final word on this topic is that it took a lot of time & extra effort on my part to resolve what I feel was a simple matter.

Had I had a very severe issue, I hate to think how bad their service would have been.

I think this thread is saying "lock me" since it's talking about policy issues of the forum authurs instead of someone asking about vB or it's features.

We are happy to tolerate discussions about vBulletin and competitors; but please keep complaints and support requests about other software off this site. Thanks.
