  • Thinking about purchasing 3.0.3

Well, I've been convinced that I want to transfer my high traffic phpbb2 forums (4,000 users) to VB3

This may not be the case, but if I wanted to completely transfer over my forums, how long will it take, what will i need to do? etc

My database sql file is about 70 mb.

Will i need to split this up and all that?

It depends on the number of posts, but I expect the actual import process would take about 30 minutes or so.

Also we do have an import script for phpBB. You can read about it here:

As of now, i have 78096 posts

Is this going to require me to split the sql up? Because I'm assuming we're uploading through phpmyadmin... which has a default 2 mb limit, and a 300 second upload limit

Only if you are moving servers would you need to upload the database, unless it is not already active somewhere.

        You can also use SSH.

Ok so just to be clear, the only thing I'm going to be uploading to my server is Vb3 itself correct?

          Thanks

If both the phpBB and vB databases are on the same server, you do not have to move anything and the only thing you'll need to upload are the vB files.
