You are going to need dual xeons with SCSI's to get 1000 Simultaneous users.

But yes, 1000 at the same time, more at times.

We have Dual Xeon's now and our server is struggling like hell. How much would you guys charge to have a look at it and see whats up?

Also, are you running any type of PHP caching? That could help.

The problem happens at all times of the day, even when the forum has only 200 online... But when we have 800 online it is worse.

Dual Xeon 2.4ghx, 2gb RAM, apache 1.3.39 is the server details.

what sort of harddrives are they? Also we recomend the latest stable build of php 4.X.X Most of the time.
