  • Do you guys have a CMS to integrate with vB?

I currently use IPB but given that it's going paid, I want to look at other options just so I have them in front of me. The biggest reason I stuck with IPB was because they were going to have a CMS integrated with the forum -- not just a simple 'news' script or 'blog' but a full blown CMS. Does vBulletin have any such animal, and can I see how it looks or what features it will have? It's extremely important in the long term for me.

    Thanks!

Those look more like PHPNuke wannabees than a real CMS -- I am trying to make a site with articles, releases, etc... and I need total integration for searching and all that stuff.

Any plans to come out with something like this? IPB is taking a turn for the worse and I'd like to know that I have options to move away from it, should I need to.

That would be something called a portal, not a CMS.

To answer the original question - Jelsoft has speculated about a true content management system (prior to IPS in fact), but there has not been an official anouncements (as when one was made with vb3, the devs were nagged too much over release dates).

So can one of the Jelsoft reps confirm or deny it would be made available in the future? I would like to run a fully integrated site... and IPS seems to offer the only long term way to do that right now. I am having such frustrations with their software right now though...

At the moment, no Jelsoft rep will confirm or deny a CMS or anything else is currently in progress.

Here are a bunch of threads on the subject, some almost 2 years old.

I think we will start to hear more about the CMS from jelsoft after the release of 3.1.0. They have been hinting at code changes that will allow vB to intergrate with modules or something along the lines of that. Mabey we'll see some sort of framework that allows all the products jelsoft might offer in the future to run intergrate, or seprate on the same server.

At the moment you will have to locate a script that will intergrate with vBulletin, or at least share the user database. I'm not up to date on all the CMS options out there, so mabey someone can give you more information on a script that will do that for you.

Subdreamer is a paid CMS solution which integrates with vB. I just found out about that recently, and it seems pretty good.
