vb_test-1 item failed, fixable?

After running the vb_test.php script, all items passed with flying colors, except this:

GD Fail

Overall Result: Pass

Is this a setting that can be tweaked, and does it impact anything else other than thumbnails? My users will probably be disappointed if they cannot have avatar type sigs to use.

It only affects image manipulation, such as thumbnails and the registration images (with random letters and numbers to prevent bot registrations). It does NOT affect avatars or attachments, or anything else that does not require image manipulation.

Thanks, sounds like it'll be no problem then. Where do the thumbnails come into play?

GD is optional. vBulletin will run perfectly without it.

GD is a image library used to create thumbnails.

It is used by vBulletin to display thumbnail previews of attached images in posts, and for image verification during registration.
