    Hi,

The board I'm moderating is running on phpBB 2.0.6. It's having a fair bit of performance issues, usually because the php code exceed the 60 second execution time limit on the server. I'm not certain if its a code issue or a web-server or database-server performance issue.

Since vB is running on php as well, I'm wondering if it'll have similar perfomance issues if we stick to the same webhost.

Related question, is vB significantly faster then phpBB (assuming server performance isn't an issue)?

    Thanks.
    Vincent

This depends on how big the posts are, how big the database is and what kind of server it is and how the load on the server is at various moments.

By experience, vBulletin is much more capable of handling bigger web sites.
