Sure you said it is possible, but can you give me some URLs of sites that look light, clean and good

I do believe its possible, but I have just seen blue, purple or dark gaming sites with VB I really appreciate your replies, thanks
You can skin vB to look like anything you want, if you want shades of pink and green its possible to change that from the admin cp if you desire. The blue and purple are just the default colors used for v3 and v2.

Here are two vB's using custom styles:

Well , I dunno of templates that look just like your templates... You will need to Custom Code...

But if you want a site which looks quite neat then take a look at sitepoint.com/forums ... It's vB.

I guess the first post that you made had been posted on IPB forums by Matt! [ If My Memory serves me well ]

Well , I will not get into complete maths... But believe me For my vB I had to just pay $85 and not a single cent more... All these fluff comparisons are plain LIES.

btw, this is completely false... InvisionPower CHARGE for any minute they provide in support...

AND you don't need to have a fulltime support from vB... once you installed your board, you simply have to ask any coder at vBulletin.org to help you if you need to recode something... you can't have that with Invision, as they are inclusive... no other coder can charge for support than them... and i know what i'm talking about, i'm a former developper at IPB!

so if you want to calculate, you pay your 160$ for vB., and that's all for the rest of your life...

oh btw.. remember that IPB was free two months ago... now you pay... vB was commercial all the time, and they have a real team with a 30 minutes reply to any request... (even faster if you ask in the community) ... you can't deal with a company that change its mind each 6 months regading releases, service and free stuff...

anyway... you are the judge !

i never use ipb i was use phpbb for long time ..and hen i convert to vb .. but one of my friend is use ipb .. when i go test the Adminpanel i see there is more options then vb.

1- u can send the Members with the html format
2- U can Put a txt html in each forums to be in the top.
3- The Atach File is not like The vb .. when u are going to atach file i tiwll be auto Convert to other name and it will be save inthe FTP.. but in the vb if u like to Save your file in the ftp then u should Contact your company and ask them to trun the safe mod off. and this is very bad your website will be hacked

4- u can let Group Use html in the forums only the group that u want and this is one of the best options that poeple is searching becz for the Security u can't make it for every one .. so in the ipb only the group u like ot give them html forrmat to use . fo example if u like the Admin or mod and u trust them then just trun the options on in the group and that is all ..

== There is a Few think in the ipb is more then vb ==
the only think is bad with the ipb is the skin it is very hard.. for example if u like any skin an du download it and u come to uploud it there is alot of error will come to u ..and u can't run the style . only if u are webdesign and u know how to design your style then u can creat one with the Default style and modify it ..

anyway iam Use vb.. know and happy with it ..

    that is al.
    thanks

Most people dont require an install, upgrade or phone support. They are available for those who need that extra bit of help due to the lack of knowledge. The install and uprgrade process is very well documented in our Online manual.

So for most people the cost is simply $160 with $30/year for the access to the latest versions if you need it. We wont force you to pay the $30 if your happy with the version you are running.

You can find many styles for download for free from the forums here and at vbulletintemplates.com. If you want to see sites that aren't using the style try http://www.vbulletin.nl/community/index.php

    1) I wouldn't recommend buying telephone support, the online support is extremely good, and unless you are completely unsavvy with computers, getting support for vBulletin is very easy. It is also very easy to install vBulletin. That comes to about $210 for 3 years, which isn't bad.

    2) A good skin site for vBulletin is http://www.vbstyles.com/, but i've your looking for free skins, you can check http://www.vbulletintemplates.com/.

started a topic VB better than IPB, UBB ?

VB better than IPB, UBB ?

I am looking to add a forum to a mambo site. I have two questions which will sway my selection:

    1) I came across this on the internet comparing costs of VB vs IPB, to this what say you ?

    vB ( "Lifetime" Licence )
Access to downloads for 1 year only - additional access @ $30 per year.
Board can be used for "lifetime"
    Initial Cost: $160
Additional Costs; Installation: $135. 1 year phone support: $300
Total Price For Year 1: $595
Total Price For Year 2: $330
Total Price For Year 3: $330
Total Cost (Running 1 x Board for 3 Years): $1255

    IPB ( "Lifetime" Licence )
    Access to downloads for "lifetime"
Board can be used for "lifetime"
    Initial Cost: $199
Additional Costs; Installation: FREE. 1 year phone support: FREE
Total Price For Year 1: $199
Total Price For Year 2: $0
Total Price For Year 3: $0
Total Cost (Running 1 x Board for 3 Years): $199
    2) Pardon my ignorance, I could be wrong on this one
My second issue is looks, why is every VB board a shade of blue or hideous purple ? Sure looks are subjective, is it possible to make a vb board look like the following: (can you give me URLs of good vb sites, non blue will do)
    http://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/ubbthreads.php
