Unforunately there isn't anything included and I dont believe there is anything on vbulletin.org that is currently available. But integration of a 3rd party one such as paFileDB should be fairly simple.

It sounds like your asking for a document drop box would be a better way to describe it?

started a topic file /data repository

    file /data repository

i've searched high and low for such a forum feature. in the open source community

In short,, the abiliity to create a folder this either global to the forum or specificic to a discussion topic within the forum into which one could upload/store various files or documents.

Note: This is *NOT* and attachment function.

Webcrossing (a proprietary product) has such a feature
Look also at this page: http://www.webxedu.com/[email protected]@.ee6b2b5

It’s the training page for web crossing

It does just about everything I'm looking for:

    Folders
    Messages
Note the cute roll down menu @ bottom RHS to switch topics.

    And it’s simple looking

does vbulletin have such a function. It's not clear form the feature list ?

and if not, how difficult would be to extend vbulletin to provide such a function

    thanks in advance
