vB in CSS?

is there a version of vB that i can buy that is purely made in CSS? as i want to be able to make a new site, and have it built totally out of CSS, and would like the Forum to be the same. Is vB going to be made in CSS later on in the year? if so, plz can i have a date, so i can go out and buy when the time comes?

will this become standard once the CSS forum is implemented? or will people still be able to buy the Table'd version? I would rather have the Forum made in CSS, as it would allow ALOT more of the forum to be editable to how i want it.

vBulletin version 3 is build in xhtml/css trans. but it is not a tableless design. Several users have made some attempts and released their hard work.

This sort of thing really bugs me, people seem intent on making everything table less when there isn't much need to do so.

OK for the most part many areas of the vB template could be tableless, however according to the W3C specs tables are for data. Well I think, for example, the main forumhome or forumdisplay tables are a good example of data tables. In that respect vB is using tables just fine.

Actually, a fully CSS design saves boatloads of time when you want to customise it and reduces bandwidth.

Actually, the only good comparison is a well-designed tabless-design versus a well-designed table. The tableless design wins hands-down.

If you're waste deep in div's and span's then you're doing something wrong.

Actually, it depends on what you're doing. I recently designed a site completely in CSS, and it is pixel perfect IE and Firefox.

Another site I recently did took a little while to start up because we used a lot of Javascript, but after I got all the initial functions figured out, it's completely trivial. I have three dozen html files, and I can change the entire design in all of them at once by modifying two or three files(and I know because I've had to do it three or four times), and it works perfectly in each browser I've tested it in.

The only possible reason I would have to make that project use a tabled design would be if I had some sort of insane desire to edit dozens of files repeatedly for no good reason.

And contrary to popular belief, tables and css aren't mutually exclusive. A table based design is mutually exclusive to a css design.

vb3 is a big step up, but can still use improvement in this area.

Let's just agree this is a matter of personal preference for now ? I'm sick and tired of seeing this CSS Vs Tables debate everywhere. Is there really any need for it to span into a pre-sales questions thread?

vBulletin isn't a tableless design, but it is xhtml/css trans.
vBulletin comes with a style manager and all the layout/design is controlled through templates. The board administrator can change it as much as he/she wants.
