I am in the demo admin trying to figure this all out before we purchase it. Where/how can a person change the backround color, table color, etc and not use the graphic designer skins?

AdminCP > Styles & Tempaltes > Style Manager > Click on go > Edit the CSS settings
You can also edit the templates by clicking on << >> and sorting though them. -

Not sure what you are asking, but 'User CP' and FAQ are in the navbar template.
Adding a chat feature requires modifying the code. There are several chat hacks available at vbulletin.org.Steve Machol, former vBulletin Customer Support Manager (and NOT retired!)

Unlike Invision, vBulletin does not have its own chat client ready for integration. You can find a good chat client - like one I use called vBxirc. You can find it by searching over at vBulletin.org. If you wanted to use something not integrated with vBulletin you could easily edit the navbar template to add the link.Originally posted by mild2wildcouple

i am not that fluent in .php is my downfall. I am just wanting to place a link up in the NAVBAR like "CHAT" etc. I would probably use raider soft java chat and spend $100 a yr on that since it has instant messages that have their own window, moderations, upload our own misc sounds, etc when used unless someone knows of a better system?? I would love to have voice and all that like that new flash setup but wow, some of the prices on those are ridiculous!
Anyways, 1 things at a time here....
