That is using the [img] tag which will display an image just like the <img> html tag does

You may have not understood me. if i have a Picture saved on my PC , and i want to uploade it in the thread , and not to be as a file , i want it to be shown as a picture as i showed you in the link above.
some forum i can show Picture in the thread , but it needs to have a LINK to be aploaded , and i can not show it if it is only saved in the PC.

          thanks alot

            You can attach pictures also

They are displayed as thumbnails if you have GD installed with php, or you can have one displayed as inline if there is only one attached.

i cant get what you are saying.
iam talking about a forum that can display PIC's in the thread , iam participating in too many Forums , but only one of them , which i just gave you above , i can display PIC's in the Thread , even if it has no LINK , such as , being saved in the desktop .

iam participating in a forum , Version 2.3.0 , and i can not display Pic's , unlese it has a Link , whereas Pic's saved in my desktop , can not be desplayed, it is coming as attatchment , as the attatchment you just made in your replay.

once again. i do not need attatchment, i need display.

if you still didn't get my point , please ask me , instade of answering a wrong question.

              Thanks alot.

I couldn't quite understand this. In vB there are two ways to display a picture in a thread:

                1) Upload it
                2) Provide a link to it

                Those are your only options.

ok, that is what i mean. UPLOAD

but , some Versions , will not display the Pic's unleas it has a Link

the think i need, is to display the Picture , even if it has no link , like if it is saved on my desktop.

i hope you got me now.

                  thanks

The options available are as I posted them. You can upload a pic, or provide a URL link to it. That's it.

i told you , i need to apload ( which is one of your options)

but when upload , i need it be displayed , not attatchment.

the link include the last (-)

in This link , you will find one of MY threads in this forum , the picture you see is saved in my desktop , i just went to thread , and (Brows) , and Attatch , then you will see it Displayed ( as Ling as it is JPG) , otherwize , it is going to be placed as attatchment.

in other forums , i can not do this ( all of them are Vbulletin)

please. understand me , this is the case , understand me .

You can just go and test your self.

Please , this of very very important for me , please try to solve the problem as soon as you can . If you don't know , you can ask somone who knows , because this is a fact , and some one MUST know.

                      Thanks alot..

This is not possible. A developer has stated an interest in adding this in the future but as it is right now, you cannot place uploaded images where you want them.

You can upload an image to any location, most internet service providers give you free web space with the dailup or broadband account. And there are many places that offer free hosting good enough for some images. A forum could also open a public anonymous ftp with incoming folder where one could upload an image.

Using the BB Code [img] tags one can then link to it and it will show as an image inline when this option has been clicked and permissions have been set to allow this.

Attachments can't be ordered within a post, they are listed at the bottom. If it is possible then this is through source code hacking for the current version of vbulletin doesn't provide this feature at the moment.

The URL you posted give me a 404 error (page not found) so I can not compare it against the current version of vBulletin right now.

The forum you posted is 2.0.3 from vBulletin. Users who posted the images inside text of a post have their images uploaded to a different location then the site URL. (so it seems)

Sorry to butt in, but I think this query is about the available display options within threads for images that have been uploaded onto the server as attachments to where the installation of vB is located.

I think mr555 is asking if it's possible to display an uploaded picture as the picture itself rather than a representation of it such as a thumbnail or link.

mr555 - I believe Zachery answered your question and the manual does suggest,

                            View Attached Images Inline
,which I take to mean that if you want an uploaded picture displayed then that is an option you have.

I have just tried this in the vB demo and it does indeed work as the attached image demonstrates.

mr555, your link is broken and the forum seems to require registration in order to view what I think your link might be.

My apologies if the question is actually something other than what I think it is!

If that is what he is asking, then this is a setting in the Admin CP. He'll need to contact the webmaster of the forums he's posting on to request this change. This is not a user-controlled option.
