Extreme Phpbb to vbulletin

Very intrested in purchasing vb. Currently I am running a form of Extreme phpbb I believe the base is 2.2.0 Gold. I am wondering if I can take my users and posts over to a vb board if I purchase this software and how tough it will be to make the conversion.

Also looking for a new server so any suggestions are welcome. 2 weeks with this php stuff has driven me nuts!

The current importer is designed only to handle the default stockversion of phpBB.

Well i have successfuly imported a phpbbfm database to VB which has well in excess of 300 mods installed a few things did not come across successfully but the were of no importance such as custom avatars and any attachments in the posts but the main ones did such as users,catagories, forums and posts.
Although i did not use the current importer for this what i done was install VB 2.3.5 then imported database then upgraded to gold.

Thanks for the info so far. I-Web that is exactly what I wanted to hear as I was told yesterday that the version I am running is full of Mods. I had someone install it for me only to find it was full of bugs and not real secure.

If I can just get the users and posts to vb. Is it tough to do an import?

Nope not that tough in fact the importer guides you every step of the way as for the version of phpbb you are running the mods installed on that will not impact on the import to VB whatsoever.

I-Web what are the phpbb files I am looking for to find my posts and users. I find all kinds of files, but can't find user lists and such.

It is not the files that are imported but the database assuming that it uses the default extension the tables are
phpbb_users
phpbb_catagories
phpbb_forums
phpbb_posts
phpbb_posts_text

Just use the normal phpbb to vb converter

you will loose the options for the other tables, but it dont matter.

and you might need to tidy up some posts after it, but hey it should work
