I am not Steve, but no... Skins are not hacks. Hacks are anything the modifies the PHP Code. There is no need to modify PHP Code to install a skin.

somthing could go wrong and you cant get any support from vbulletin on the problem

I recommend completing the installation and import prior to installing any hacks. Once you install hacks to your forums you won't be eligible for official support.

I am just in the process of setting up Vbulletin and doing some hack to it, ie VBindex and a couple of others.

I will be importing my existing forums based on DCForum+ when the importer is released, however the question is should I do all the set-up for VBIndex and Links etc before or after the import??

Will the importer have an effect???
