Honestly I have no idea what you are talking about. We do not share customer license info with anyone. I seriously hope this is just a misunderstanding and not another attempt to gain attention. Please send all details about this to [email protected] so we can see what it is you are concerned about.

That is done programmatically with sites that we sponsor or own to provide better service to the customer. The people involved with those sites do not ever see your customer information and the information never leaves our server.

As Wayne already explained, your information is not shared with anyone, nor is anything done automatically without your consent. If you wish to have access to restricted areas on vBulletinTemplates.com, a site we sponsor, you need to go to the Members Area on this website, and enter your email address. vBulletinTemplates.com, or vBulletin.org for the matter, does not receive any information about you that they don't already possess - since when you sign up, you enter your email address anyway and that is how the matching is done.

I am afraid you are not reading the posts in whole. These websites do not check any of your information - everything is done from vBulletin.com, this site. Furthermore, nothing is being done if you don't allow it. The 'checkup' is only performed if you log into the Members Area here, and enter your email address on a special form.

Unless you also registered on these other sites - something we don't force you to do - they will never know who you are, what's your name or whether or not you are licensed. What else is unclear?

Yes they will cause as soon as I try to download something I get a reject screen telling me I am not a licensed vB member. I did not give anyone permission to use my vB license account for license verification aside from jelsoft itself.

Downloads at both vBulletin.org and vBulletinTemplates.com are restricted so that illegitimate users of vBulletin cannot access these resources. If you want to access these downloads, you need to register at the website, with the same email address that is associated with your license, and that's it. By doing so you are already providing the website with your email address, so what else do is "shared" that isn't already available? Also, if you wish to keep your email address private, you can register using a different one and enter that different address in the Members Area form. No matter what you do, no information is shared with these websites beyond what's already known to them. And on top of it all, both of these websites are hosted on our own server which means that no data is transmitted in or out of it, everything is done internally.
