  • Complain [use of v2]

    This is misleading !

People will now come to these forums to find an example of how vbulletin looks and feels, buy it, and be disappointed. How can you use a product which isn't even released yet to demo your current system ?

    a) the templates you use here aren't distributed in the download

    b) all of the extra features of v2 aren't found in v1 !

oh don't be rediculous, it says alpha at the bottom and alphas are hardly ever avaliable for download, there is masses of discussion about when vb2 is coming out so i doubt anyone is being mislead.

Anyway, it will be avaliable in a couple of weeks so what's the worry.

what do you want them to do? just give everone a buggy system to test? now that would really make everone happy.

        u missed my point

they should have the version they are CURRENTLY OFFERING on their own forums so prospective buyers can test out the softare.

why? is this some regulation or something? there are hundreds of sites listed in the links section which run vb1.4 so it is not a matter of finding them that is the problem. The new software needs to be tested and one of the best places to properly test it is where the people who are all going to use it are in one place. Maybe they should have an old installation of vb1.4 up somewhere but it is essential we beta test vb2.0 here as the main forum.

Come on Chris... take a deep breath

The whole point he is trying to make is that people would come here to look at the "Demo" before they buy. So he has a good point about that.

The things he has to look at are that, the new software will be out very soon, so even if someone did buy 1.1.5 now thinking it was the same as what this forum is, they would be able to upgrade it in a week or two (hopefully).

Testing does need to be done, how would you feel if they released this version now, then kept releasing new updates for it every week, hell they are not Microsoft. Think of those that hack their boards to add even more features, then have to do all that over again when a new version is released.

Testing is good vB2 is very good

            so chill

Anyone willing to pay the money for this software is going to be doing a little research. Not only will they look at the forums but they will read some of the messages and if necessary ask questions..

The community here asked for these forums to be upgraded to vBulletin 2.0. Jelsoft agreed and upgraded. Now you are complaining because of this?

This software needs to be tested. Anyone purchasing a license today will get this version for free when it is released. I really don't see what the problem is.

thanks wluke a voice of reason.

i am taking a deep breath just in case but contiunal winging about the most minor and pointless issues when jelsoft is so busy putting the finishing touches to vb2 just wastes everyones time.
