Confirm that the issue is still there on 5.2.3, even for administrators. It is still there even on this site, so the testing for it is quite simple.

I petitioned the JIRA to be re-opened as the issue still occurs here in 5.2.3 even if the JIRA says it was fixed in 5.2.2.

The field is required at registration and profile updating and is viewable on the user profile

Is it viewable on the user profile or only on registration?

Ah, I don't have any that I can change. I only have one required field and that's editable and searchable. It is a drop down select box though? Should that matter?

Yes it should do. But do upgrade when you can....5.2.3 brings a lot of fixes with it, plus of course the new vBulletin Messenger.

I will upgrade shortly, I've just been having so many issues lately that I'm reluctant to start upgrading anything! But, I shall find a good time to do it shortly.

So, if I make all required fields editable, it will solve the issue for now?

Upgrade to 5.2.3. If it still occurs, petition the JIRA above to be reopened with your information.

The workaround is to make the required fields editable so they appear when changing your user settings.

    I have the same problem.
    1. Go to http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/settings/profile
    2. Try to save "Profile" tab even NOT changing anything.
    3. You will get error "Cannot change the custom field".
