Oh and FYI you can only use the Flag a Post function once every five minutes.

Nothing much will be done regarding IE8. It's an old browser now.

I do understand that this leaves XP users stranded from an IE perspective, but to those I would say, try Firefox or Chrome.

When browsing this site with FF 26, I don't find it "unbearably slow" anymore. However, there is always room for some improvement, so I guess vB5 will still become faster over time.

Perhaps speed concerns is depending on the browser they use.

    For my experience :
with IE8, it is catastrophic here or on my site.
with FF23 or Chrome, that is OK.
    iPhone 5 OK
    I openned JIRA about it.

This site is a support site for vBulletin forum software.
Maybe he/she is a potential customer, who is observing the vB5 forum speed HERE at vb.com ?

It can be their concern, and I agree with the person. vB5 does seem slower in terms of speed compared to even vB3.

EDIT: their latest post now states they are using their "own" forum. Which in that case makes sense now.

The views you're looking at are more likely to be cached.

If New Posts is too slow for you right now, please try today's posts. It doesn't have the Unread_only filter which is the source of the speed issue from my testing.

No speed issues with this forum here in Australia on a 100Mbit cable connection. In fact, I'd have to say it's running faster than it ever has, "New Topics" included.
