Just wondering if and WHEN we should stop coming here for information and just look at these places for future vbulletin info?
I'm guessing just to buy the software and then once we have it installed, go back to facebook or twitter and answer all the posts, yes?

Join us on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

The end is nearing, yes, no?
    Cheers!

    We are shutting vb.com down.

Didn't you see the memo we posted on Twitter?

It works without the smiley, too. No need to over-emoticon everything.

Facebook and Twitter mirror the supporting of China, as we all run and buy all the cheap child labor junk made there, what are we doing to our home and communities. Seems like a good deal as we all run like sheep but at what price? We are loosing mass in every way. Its the demise of the USA and more...I see this the same way with those two social giants and it scares me.

I don't get it. I see why you posted that announcement, but I truly don't see it as a good thing for vbulletin communities. You are speeding up fragmentation to say the least. And I don't think its stoppable.
            Cheers!

I just dont get all the flirtation with facebook and twitter. Why send users away from the company site? Why should I go to different sites like facebook and twitter to find information about the site that im actually interested in?

It's called extending your brand people

I wouldn't mind if the notice went away, but it doesn't bother me in the least.

Maybe you don't see it coming. You are either there or here, where are you?

ATTENTION ALL Members and new users coming here... ! Isn't this what you are telling us?

You are promoting Facebook and Twitter, and telling every single reader that comes here to go there! You are in trouble in more ways than one. I am seriously rethinking your direction and I absolutely think this community is being run by morons.

                          I'm done with this topic.

I'm taking a wild guess, but I think a few people on here are also on Twitter and Facebook, and might want to follow them on those sites as well.

Forums and social networks are not mutually exclusive, and they can definitely be used constructively. I'm not a big fan of either myself, but I understand that there are many opportunities to leverage them to promote your site, brand, and product.

Sure, some forum communities may have something to be concerned about, but in this case you're overreacting.

These days, if you offer a product--any product--or have a brand to promote, you almost by default have to have some sort of social networking presence.

Actually to add, what I am really seeing is vbulletin needing more money for the next campaign cash run at the expense of their future. Back to my China parallel. More and more people are buying China crap and more and more people are unemployed here.
                              Cheers!
