I am the SYSOP of the site ... they do what their told or they no longer have powers @ the site.

Simple managment ...but I am a network computer installer and feild service tech setting up clients with internal security matters all the time so it spills over into the hobby forums also

You can use the custom profile feature to ask for a 'public' username, and instead of the real username, only display the public username.

I always have 2 accounts, 1 admin account and 1 public account. Their passwords differ ofcourse. And .. my admin account isn't userid1

Its a usergroup option in vB3, or a hack over at vBulletin.org for vB2.

If they get your password, then you have more important things to worry about.

Which is essentially 2 passwords, because you need 2 hidden bits of information instead of just 1. Htaccess is still a better method.

no it is not 2 passwerd

    it is 2 nick name

one nick name is just Fake name to enter the site .. so that if any one get your passwerd he dont no your fake name ..

The other name is it will show in the site when u will post and online profile etc...

the fake name is just to protact your account ... even if some one know your real nick name and he know your real passwerd .. then he dontno your Fake name .. when uw ill log in

Well you could accomplish this with a new userprofile fields, that display their Public name instead of their username.

You can use .htaccess to protect the AdminCP if your server uses apache.
