  • Is it possible to have the blog outside the forum directory with the new vb 4 suite

I'm wondering whether that is possible to do now or it could be added as a feature in a future release.
So instead of http://www.website.com/forum/blog.php the URL would be http://www.website.com/blog.php

    Or it will never happen?

From what I've read all needs to be installed in the same directory...however you would use the new seo urls to achieve something like:

    yoursites.com/
    yoursites.com/blog
    yoursites.com/forum

Or something similar. Depending on what your rewrite urls are setup like.

      I know about SEO URLS/mode_rewrite/.htaccess.
However, my Idea is to put the CMS in the highest accessible level of the site so it normally would be this way:
      www.website.com/
under this directory there would be forum directory and blog directory all in it's own folder do it will be this way:
      www.website.com/forum
      www.website.com/blog

without having to use the SEO URLS/mode_rewrite/.htaccess

I think that will be good for blogging as while it's under the forum directory, fewer users will be interested in using blog as it's just a part of the forum. but if it has it's own directory I think the situation will be different.

Maybe I'm wrong but that is my idea.
