    Resolved

    Hi,

After speaking to EBay the only work around is the one suggested by punchbowl, allowing HTML in one forum and limiting only the rss poster to post there in pure html.

    Cheers,

    Chris

The only way I could possibly get it to work is by using the xml version and allowing the rss poster the ability to post html in forums. Do you allow html in the rss feed forum? It might work but it means you can't allow members reply or post in that forum.

    Code:
    http://rest.ebay.com/epn/v1/find/item.rss?keyword=airfix+space+1999&sortOrder=EndTimeSoonest&programid=15&campaignid=5336824626&toolid=10039&listingType1=All&lgeo=1&feedType=xml
It won't work if you try convert html to bbcode - probably because of the table tags

    Here's the description retrieved

    HTML Code:
    <table border='0' cellpadding='8'> <tr><td> <a href= 'http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?ff3=2&toolid=10039&campid=5336824626&item=220775 204772&vectorid=229508&lgeo=1' target='_blank'><img src='http://thumbs1.ebaystatic.com/m/mEYQVGSbEG9QzhBDBepvxvw/140.jpg border='0'></a></td><td><strong>£4.99</strong> (0 Bids)<br>End Date: Friday May-6-2011 12:38:47 BST<br><a href='http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?ff3=2&toolid=10039&campid=5336824626&item=220775 204772&vectorid=229508&lgeo=1' target='_blank'>Bid now</a> | <a href='http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?ff3=4&toolid=10039&campid=5336824626&vectorid=22 9508&lgeo=1&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi1.ebay.com%2Fws%2 FeBayISAPI.dll%3FMfcISAPICommand%3DMakeTrack%26ite m%3D220775204772%26ssPageName%3DRSS%3AB%3ASRCH%3AU S%3A104' target='_blank'>Add to watch list</a></td></tr> </table>
if that's posted in a forum where html is allowed it *should* work.

    Hi,

the broken new rss feed doesn't display correctly in the feed preview in admincp, it displays the same as it posts.

    tried rss2 but same output.

Oops looks like our host had a server hiccup, the links should work now,

Here is a RSS created by the old EPN rss generator that works.

    http://rss.api.ebay.com/ws/rssapi?Fe...&fsop=2&fsoo=2

This is what the new generator outputs, it works in the EPN preview, but not when the rss feed manager try to post it on vbulletin

    Hope this helps with troubleshooting

  • problem with using feeds from new Ebay Partner network RSS Generator released 26/4/11

Hi Guys, im posting this issue here, im currently discussing it with Ebay aswell and will update if resolution is found in case others have problem, but just in case anyone has any help / advice on the issue I thought id ask here as well

We are running 3.7.2, and have RSS feed posting set up to post auctions of interest to our members, Everything was workign fine, then on the 25th/26th April Ebay released a new RSS generator, and all RSS wil need to be changed to this in the next motnh or so before they turn the old RSS off, so i proceded to create one of my current RSS using the new generator.

It created fine, and the preview on EPN looked fine, so i set up a new rss feed item to post the new RSS, however theposts its generating are broken, and im stumped as to why.

An example of a post made using the old RSS generator can be seen here, and displays as it should

    http://www.eagletransporter.com/foru...d.php?t=132480

However posts using RSS feeds created with the new Generator are posting like this

    http://www.eagletransporter.com/foru...d.php?t=132542

If anyone has ANY thoughts, ideas or suggestions on fixing this (if it is anything vbulletin side) please let me know, as the new RSS generator on the Ebay partner network is s new other members may not have tried it yet but im sure there will be other people affected by this.
Like I said Im troubleshooting this with Ebaypartnernetwork as well and if a resolution is found with them ill update here.

    Cheers,

    Chris
