Line 618 is:

				$text = preg_replace("#$censorword#si", str_repeat($vbulletin->options['censorchar'], vbstrlen($censorword)), $text);

This code parses text for censored words. I suspect you have an excessively long list of words:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Censorship Options -> Censored Words

Try clearing that field, or cut down on the amount of censored words.
