  • Current Active Users & Who's Online Page

I just upgraded to 3.7.4 a couple of days ago and I just noticed something. I logged on and noticed in the What's Going On that the list of current active users said 1 member and 2 guests. When I went to the Who's Online page, it showed me as the member and 7 guests... one search crawler and 6 spammers trying to register or log in. I went back and refreshed the first page and it still only showed 1 member and 2 guests. Went back to the Who's Online and refresh and it's still me and 7 bots. I am almost 99% sure that this use to be correct before 3.7.4. Did something change between these two pages or is it a bug? Or have the Bot's improved their stealth ability?

As I was typing this, two more robot joined and my What's Goin On changed to 1 member and 3 guests, but there are 8 guests in the Who's Online Page.

    Anyway ideas about this?

One thing I noticed... most of the bots are from IP addresses that I have banned. If an IP is banned is it not shown in the What's Going On section?

Well, after following the above link and then a few more links from that, it seems it is a bug or a features that was put in for something different. There does seem to be a patch, although the person that said there was a patch didn't say where the patch can be found... unless it's the current patch that was just put up (although the message in one of the links was before they announced the current patch for 3.7.4).

Thanks for the link. I'd seen the first one and found it more confusing than helpful. I hadn't see the other links though. Since it's known (although I'm still not sure if it's considered a bug or a feature) by the developers, I guess it will either fix itself in the current patch or in a future update one of these days.

      Thanks

      Mike

The patch is right on the bottom of the bug report (where they always are).

You must get more bugs than I do (I've never had any), Lynne, which is why I don't know where they always are. But now that I know, I should be able to find it.

          Thanks
