  • Upgrade to 3.7.3 Patch1 from 3.6.5 went well, except for config.php

    Hi all.

My upgrade to 3.7.3 Patch1 from 3.6.5 went well, except for config.php.
The forums were running smooth, but then I remembered I had to rename the:

    config.php.new

    file to

    config.php

I copied all of the settings (I think ) from the original config.php to the config.php.new before renaming it.

The board runs fine with the old config, then it just shows up as a completely blank page with the new config???

    Here's the original config.php from 3.6.5
    Code:

As I stated, the board seems to run fine until I try renaming the config.php.new to config.php after configuring it to match the original config.php from 3.6.5, then it just shows up as a completely blank page.

    Am I overlooking something simple?
    TIA for any advice.

My guess is the blank line at the top of the second config.php.

Thanks Steve, I don't see a blank line at the top of the second config.php on the server.

I think that's just a blank line I inadvertently inserted while c/p of the code into this thread.

I'm running the Forum with the original config.php right now and all seems well.
Is there any harm in doing so until I can figure out what I'm missing?

someadminname is made up as well.
I must have missed the ' in the c/p.
The ' is surrounding the 'username' in the actual config file.

            I found the problem.
            There was a " instead of a ' surrounding the ****** DATABASE NAME ******

Staring too long at the code!

Thanks all for your help, it's all good!
