  • How to bring back news under "For your Information"

    Hello there,

I just updated vBulletin from version 3.6.1 to version 3.7.3 now after I upgraded vBulletin I noticed I had some news that I could address or dismiss under the "For your Information" in the main page, is there a way to bring back those news because I accidentally viewed them and then I clicked refresh so when I tried to view them again they were not under the "For your Information" anymore so is there a way to bring them back?

Or could someone tell me what kind of information I should have expected to see there as I updated vBulletin from version 3.6 to 3.7?

    Thanks,
    John

If you want to use the internal search engine by vBulletin. You can use that, the default now is to use the MySQL FULLTEXT search.

        Our documentation: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/search_type

well this is what it's asking me:

          Search Type

Your forum is currently using the Fulltext search engine.

If you wish to revert to the vBulletin search engine, please continue. You can leave the Fulltext indexes in place if you expect to return to the Fulltext search in the near future. Leaving them in place will cause added load on your system in the interim.

          Remove Fulltext Indexes Yes No

so I guess I shouldn't make any changes to that?

If you use fulltext, and want to use vb's internal search, you can leave it at yes. And convert over from fulltext to vbsearch.

Make a backup of your database first.

If it is fulltext, just leave it. Don't convert back

You can view the announcements to find out what is new since 3.6
