Just as the question states. How do I make myself a SuperAdmin? I have two accounts that I use: One is the "Admin" and the other is a regular username that I granted [to myself] Admin rights as well.
I have recently brought a couple of Mods onboard and want to delegate them the task of moderating/approving new members. As I understand it, that is an administrative function and not a moderator one. So I want to upgrade them. However, I do not want to grant full, unrestricted access to the CP (I already understand the acces masks). I just want to put in some kind of safeguard that says *I* cannot be deleted (accidentally or otherwise) and the only way I guess that can be done is to make myself a "SuperAdmin".
So. How do I do that?
I tried doing some searches here, but nothing I found really answered this question in a clear, step-by-step, easy to follow process. From what I've seen, I have to do it in the "Includes" code directory. But how do I get to that part? Can anyone create a simple flow chart on how to do this?
Something like:
AdminCP--->this folder------>that option---->click on this---->enter 'klondike555' there----->save.
Would be most appreciated.

On a related note, I recently inadvertantly banned myself through bannimg an IP address. It looked like a "guest" was attempting to enter the Admin control panel. What I didn't realize was that it was myself doing some testing and that the "who's online" hadn't refreshed yet. And I'm not always cognizant of my IP address. So in knee-jerk reaction, I immediately went in and banned "that" IP.
turned out it was myself. And every attempt to get back into both the forum and the CP was refused. At least I know that the IP banning works!
Oops.
It was only through another computer that I was able to go in and unlock myself.
Are there any safeguards against stuff like this? I mean I realize it was my own stupidity and inattention that did this. But in the event something like that happens again, is there some "secret" password that I can get in to bypass it and unlock myself? Or do I just need to pay better attention next time I ban an IP address?
