Manually Deleting Users

What is the procedure to manually delete users from the database? I have a huge number of bogus registrations I need to remove and would like to just get them cleaned up with a DB query. Do I have to clean up any tables besides user? If so, which tables are affected?

We do not recommend or support doing this directly via the database. That is because the user info is scattered among many tables. The only supported function is to delete members from the Admin CP.
