  • Please Help Me Get Rid Of This mktime Error

    Hello,

Can someone tell me what I can change to remove the values from the day and year from all members birth dates?

We just moved to another server and now thousands of profiles show up with this error at the top:

Warning: mktime() expects parameter 4 to be long, string given in [path]/includes/class_userprofile.php on line 260

It has to do with their birth date settings for some reason. If I edit a profile and just remove the day and year values it removes the error from their profile.

How can I make every members blank? Or do something else to get rid of this error?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

First, reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

[Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]

    Next, disable all plugins.

Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

    define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it. Now check again.

Do you still have the same problem?

      Hi Floris,

Ok, I'm going to give this a try. A couple things I don't understand though. When you say this:

      ---
[Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]
      ---

Are you saying I have to get rid of hacks I have installed? All the ones I have are important to our forum so getting rid of them will be fairly impossible.

And the disable plugins temporarily, what do I do after that? I mean if the problem goes away I have to leave the plugins disabled? If not, what does disabling them do?

This is a little confusing.. :-)

      Thanks!

Of course make a backup of what you remove.
The goal here is to determine where it breaks, disabling the hook system and removing the .xml files allows us to exclude them. Once the problems is figured out and its not one or more of the plugins, you can of course restore them.
