  • Electronic Spamination Recommendations?

As of this morning, ~10 registration attempts by spammers are being attempted per hour to my forums.

I am set up to approve new users so they never get a chance to post.

Is there a means (image) to obstruct the ease with which they use their macros to attempt to join?

    Input appreciated.

I had 15 and counting this morning, as have a few other forums I visit.

Once I turned on moderate users AND the ReCaptcha the registrations have stopped!

I recommend adding this: Add an extra question to the registration to prevent bot registrations

Thank you one and all. I am implementing the recommendations. Again, my appreciation.

The current onslaught are not bots, they are humans.

There is no protection against humans registering at your forums really. You will have to either ban them or delete them manually.

Hmm must not be overly bright. (Thank goodness) Switching to ReCaptcha and a question has stopped them dead on my site and one site I moderate.
