I have run test sites on Nginx, Lighttpd, and Litespeed (free edition) without any major problems. I couldn't get my Google site map to work on either of the latter and I didn't try it yet on Nginx. All were/are compatible with Vbseo if you run that. I plan also to try Cherokee sooner or later.

So far my preference is Nginx with php-fpm and that is likely where I will move all of my sites (not just my forums). Lighttpd is known to still have memory leaks and Litespeed is expensive if you want to run the Enterprise version.

Yes, you can use both Lighttpd and nginx with vBulletin.

Is vBulletin compatible with only Apache or can you use Lighttpd or NgineX to serve it as well? I'm considering the move to a different host and was going to use NgineX but I wanted to be sure of that none of my sites would be broken.
