File Size over 1.5 MB crashes Browser

Try a test upload:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Upload

What are the results of the test?

Some of your server settings might be limiting:

PHP Settings:
max_execution_time
memory_limit
post_max_size
upload_max_filesize

MySQL Settings:
max_allowed_packet
max_packet_size
wait_timeout

You can see your PHP settings in your:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> View PHP info

I'm not running any plug-ins, and have encountered problems with attachments over 1.5MB in size.

I've set the file size to almost 10MB for ZIP files and PDF files. However, I've encountered problems with both formats when they exceed the 1.5 mark.
