Password vulnerability update

Hello,

When upgrading to the latest vbulletin I was prompted to email 950 users of their vulnerable passwords. So I hit the button to process these.

The script timed out because of the size of the job.

Will this have caused any problems ? and how do I know if this has done its job ?

When I log into the admincp I don't see the message anymore.

This may be a server time limit. To increase your limits edit your includes/config.php file and add this line right under the <?php line:

ini_set("max_execution_time", "2440");

If you still have this problem after that then this is another server issue. You'll need to contact your host about this. Here are the reasons for the MySQL server going away:

Hello Steve,

This a dedicated box dual 2.8Ghz 4Gb RAM, with the forums being the only sizable site on the server.

I'll try the max_execution adjustment, but I think in its default period it had only managed to process 100.

Will these timeouts cause database damage ? For example, if the script times out halfway through a password modification ?

No permanent damage. Rerunning that should be fine.
