I am still trying-and no one seems to be willing or able to explain to me- how to do just the opposite.

Currently, if you enter my site name in your browser bar, you get the front page index of the VBulletin forum.

What steps do I need to do to change my site name from http//www.mysite.net to http//www.mysite.net/forums?

I'm assuming I start by accessing my Admin Control Panel. where do I go from there and what steps do I need to take? If new or revised code needs to be added somewhere, where do I do it?

That should then free up the "mysite" name to be [re]launched with a new front/home page that I want. I can then link mysite/forums to it as a "forum" link?

And what if anything would I need to change on my server? In doing this, is it something I have to change for all the individual forums or would all content be carried over and protected with the new name?

And lastly. The "new" site home page. Does it matter where I build it? My site name is registered at GoDaddy but my VBulletin serve is hosted on Bluehost.

i got it thanks to this thread:

      http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=263087

just make sure you update your URL in the admincp FIRST before moving everything out of the forums folder and onto the root

You should always start your own support thread. However, I will answer your question anyways.

All you have to do is create a new folder on your domain called forums.
You will then see http//www.mysite.net/forums when using your FTP program on your domain name.
Move all of the vBulletin files from the root ( http//www.mysite.net ) to the forums folder ( http//www.mysite.net/forums).

        Then, go to:
        AdminCP -> vBulletin Options ->
Site Name / URL / Contact Details -> Forum URL
Enter the new forum URL (http://www.mysite.net/forums)

That's all you have to do
        Regards,
        Nick
