When you upload only the patched files then it's normal for those to be flagged by the file check. You can resolve it to ensure all files are in good shape by uploading the entire package instead of just the patched files.

Then rather than try to modify the cookies to work with that customization, try removing the customization. Try to reproduce it on a default style:

Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> [Add New Style]

Create a new style with no parent. Then click that style's name in the Style Manager to view your forum with that style. If the problem goes away on the default style then you know it's a style problem at which point you need to systematically revert your custom templates to isolate the problem.

If you still have the problem then try disabling your plugins:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Plugin/Hook System

Also run a file check to look for customized files. Upload the original files if any problems are reported:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

Did that, cleared all private data in Firefox, then used CC Cleaner to clear all stored cookies etc., shut the PC down and rebooted. Still the same.

The thread URL has "www" while the attachment URL does not. Your forum has been modified to use full URLs for attachments. That is the problem.

    Try changing your cookie domain:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Cookies and HTTP Header Options

Use a cookie domain like this (which uses your domain name, including the beginning dot):

    .domain.com

That will make it so your forum cookies work from any subdomain of your domain, with or without "www".

Just found one, clicked properties and this is the url
    http://www.fordescortclub.co.uk/atta...1&d=1218876621

the thread is at http://fordescortclub.co.uk/showthread.php?t=138 although I have guests disabled from viewing images. Ive uploaded a screen of the missing image. you can see the other images are there fine. it seems to be very random on which images it will show when using the [ attach ] bbcode.

Try right clicking the red X and view properties. That will reveal the image location. What is that location? Anything unusual like a wrong URL? Can you post a URL to a post that has the problem?

I'm certain, I noticed it was only some of the images which diudnt have the attached image border around which happens when you use the paper clip. At first I thought it was photobucket or imageshack not working, then I edited the posts and noticed the [ attach ] bb code next to a 4 digit number, no url just a number.
after clicking save again the image sometimes appears. When you right click on the image it uses a url to my site aswell so I know its not being pulled from another site.

When viewing this images in the [ attach ] bbcode it also treats logged in members as guests, when you look on the whos online list it will show my ip as me logged in and also a guest with a stop sign next to it.

Are you sure it's the [attach] BB code? It sounds like the [IMG] code to me. A broken image from a [IMG] tag means the image URL isn't a valid image or maybe the host is blocking remote linking.

started a topic [attach] bbcode not working

    [attach] bbcode not working

    Hi,
i posted a while back about not being able to view certain images in members posts, I've now found the problem although not sure of how to fix it.
Basicly when users upload images by the paperclip or manage attachments button images show fine. Although when users upload images by the [ attach ] option these images do not show. in ie7 you get the empty box with a red cross in the top right.

so basicly any images that are using the
[ attach ] [ / attach] bbcode are not working

I could just edit it out of the template but I'd prefer if there was a option in admin panel or fix for this. cheers
