Now I'm getting Duplicate Post messages as well...

I was using 3.7 without issue. After I upgraded to 3.72, I started receiving a "duplicate post" message. However, the post goes through and there IS NO duplicate message.

Yes, it's probably something to do with one of the few plugins I added that worked fine with 3.7.. I have to say, however - that this plugin system seems like more effort than it's worth. One of the reasons I use vBulletin over other systems is the ease of modifications.. However, this is beginning to leave a sour taste in my mouth. The software feels like a high-end luxury car with a lot of technical gremlins.

There are so many issues with security token errors, duplicate posts and whatever else I haven't run into yet. I would like to suggest that Jelsoft becomes more involved with plugins and offer some type of way to "approve" plugins so that they work with the system rather than break it.

I do understand that we cannot expect ALL plugins to be approved. However, it would be nice if some of the more popular ones would be. It would obviously save thousands of people a whole lot of time - including administrators and Jelsoft employees answering questions...

I have seen these kinds of problems be the result of not having a flood check. Make sure this is not set to 0:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Message Posting and Editing Options -> Minimum Time Between Posts

Otherwise it might be a customization. You can quickly determine this by temporarily disabling your customizations. Try to reproduce it on a default style:

Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> [Add New Style]

Create a new style with no parent. Then click that style's name in the Style Manager to view your forum with that style. If the problem goes away on the default style then you know it's a style problem at which point you need to systematically revert your custom templates to isolate the problem.

If you still have the problem then try disabling your plugins:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Plugin/Hook System

Also run a file check to look for customized files. Upload the original files if any problems are reported:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

Thanks, Jake.. I do have the minimum post time set to 30 seconds.. It's hard to diagnose because the problem only happens every so often. I suppose I'd need to leave my new style set and browse with it for a few days. If it doesn't happen again, assume it's a style..

Thank you for your input.. I appreciate it...

Hi Sal, this problem plagued us so bad, it was happening with every post!

We upgraded to 3.7.3 and it has magically disappeared! Couldn't be happier.
