Error 28 from storage engine means you are out of disc space. You should contact your host about this.

That's interesting that you guys are both at the same host. I was wondering why I saw two of the same problems this morning. It's not something you really see that often. You can read more about it here - http://www.mysql.com/news-and-events...000000249.html

thanks for that, i wish i had a more technical head to understand it a bit more. Gibby i have put in a ticket too, we will see what the result is. I think it has to be the hosts end, because i havent changed a thing and all was fine an hour a go

So, that's something that we can fix on our end? I am afraid this one may be out of my ballpark if so.

If you are on shared hosting, most likely it is your host that needs to fix the issue.

gibby, you can email all your members to let them know, go to your admin panel, by going to your domain name and adding admincp to the end of it. Thats what i have just done so at least they know.

The disc space it is referring to is the MySQL Storage Partition and is global to the entire server. It has nothing to do with the allocation of space that your provider says that you will have. Many discount providers offer large amounts and live by the fact that everyone will not use all that space and overbook the servers. Then things like this happen.

Error 28 is the operating system telling MySQL that there is no more room for MySQL. You need to have your hosting provider increase the size the of the MySQL data partition and the tmp partition. The tmp partition should be at least 3 times the size as the largest database table on the server and 5 times is better.
