    I am unable to create new or reply to existing threads?

    I am unable to create new threads or reply to existing threads, I am also unable to reply to PM's. My members are not experiencing this problem as far as I am aware. I cannot save any changes in my admincp either. Everytime I try to do any of the above, I am redirected to the forum homepage. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem as I am completely stumped and have asked on other sites to no avail and this is my last resort.

    Assuming your usergroup has all these permissions then this is a problem from a modification.

    To troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version and that none show 'File does not contain expected contents':

    Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

    [Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]

    Next, disable all plugins.

    Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

    define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

    Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

        It's eiher a modification or the permissions. Those really are the only options.

        Next step is to check all permissions.

          I have checked all my permissions and they are all ok. I have so many modifications on my site that I don't know where to start when checking through all of them. Is there any way of checking the database to see if something has been altered by a modification that could be causing the problem? When I click the link to post a reply or create a new thread, it is pointing to the correct url, but it just keeps sending me back to the homepage???

            There is no simle way to determine which modification is causing this. You can try asking for help over at www.vbulletin.org.
