adding an RSS feed to my board

Ok, I have spent a while searching my problem and at this point I am starting to feel silly. I simply want to add an rss feed to my board so that it posts regularly.

At this point I get this error.

Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to www.xxxxx.com:80 in [path]/includes/class_rss_poster.php on line 98

Warning: Unable to fetch RSS Feed in [path]/includes/class_rss_poster.php on line 231

That error mean that your server cannot connect to the server of that RSS feed. If you are sure you are using a valid feed, then you need to contact your host about this.

      ok, another dumb question.

What does the URL of a feed typically look like?

It works straight out of a browser, but it doesn't seem to matter what feed I use i get this same error.

                Where might I address it?

That feed works fine on my unmodified 3.7.2 test forum. As I said that error means that your server cannot connect to that feed. This is something you need to contact your host about.

ok, will give them a shout, that seems like they shouldn't have this issue.
