    problem login out

    Hi all,

I'm currently having a problem with my board. Everytime I try to log out of the board I get this message
An error occurred while attempting to log you out. Click here to log out.
and this is not just with my account but with every member of my board. I also tried with other computers but the problem is still there.
Does anybody have an idea as to why this is happening? Thanks in advance

Your custom templates are old and have invalid logout links. See this post:

I did what you said. Now everything is up to date and I'm still having the same problem. Any other suggestions?

It must be a style problem. Try to reproduce it on a default style:

Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> [Add New Style]

Create a new style with no parent. Then click that style's name in the Style Manager to view your forum with that style. If the problem goes away on the default style then you know it's a style problem at which point you need to systematically revert your custom templates to isolate the problem.

In that case maybe the upgrade was not complete. Make sure you:

            1) Uploaded all of the new files, overwriting the old files. (images directory is optional)

            2) Ran the "install/upgrade.php" script in your browser.

This problem can also be caused by old addon products that have not been updated for your current version of vBulletin. In that case you can either disable your addons or update them.

              Hi Jake,

First of all I just wanted to tell you thank you for all your help and your time; I really appreciate it .

I had this problem before the upgrade, so I figure that maybe after the upgrade it would get fixed but it stayed the same. I also keep getting this message in my email:
              Database error in vBulletin 3.7.2:

              Invalid SQL:
              SELECT imagestamp FROM vB3_regimage WHERE regimagehash = '616c56b963e3946c31404b32edd301b6' AND viewed = 0;

Maybe it has to do with the problem? I'm sorry for all the trouble but eventhough I know a little bit about scripts and basic html, I'm still scratching my head about this one. I would've asked for help before but before I do ask anybody I try to resolve the problem myself and if I hit a brick wall then I ask. Sometimes I just feel like installing the whole board all over again but I'll do that as a last option. So thank you for you help.

That table does not exist in 3.7. That reference must be from old or custom code. Try disabling your plugins:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Plugin/Hook System

Also run a file check to look for customized files. Upload the original files if any problems are reported:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

Also if you are running vB Blog you need to upgrade to version 1.0.5.

I did this and it turned off my vbadvanced that I have installed. So I did the next thing:
Also run a file check to look for customized files. Upload the original files if any problems are reported:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions
and found out that I had an old version of vbadvanced so I got the newest release and now everything is up to date. I'm not getting the email anymore but the original problem is still there: can't log out. If you don't have anymore suggestions then I guess I'm going to have to start all over again by uninstalling vbulletin and installing it again.

I have no more suggestions. We can take a look if you submit a trouble ticket with your forum and server info:

Then you can't get that error if you follow these instructions.

To troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version and that none show 'File does not contain expected contents':

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

[Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]

                          Next, disable all plugins.

Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

                          define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

Thank you very much for your help. I still have the same problem so I'm just going to reinstall the board again. In addition to this problem I'm also getting a lot of registration of spammers; I remember reading a thread here about that so i'm practically banning almost every person that signs up because they're answering my custom question with a website address and a lot of these address are porn sites so I'm just going to unistall the board and install it again. Thanks again .
