  • View Ip address

    Hello,

    Is there a way (somewhere) to set it up where I can view the IP address of the personal that posted a thread?

    All help here is appreciated.

    Thank You

    Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Message Posting and Editing Options -> Log IP Addresses

      Apologies if this should be in a new thread instead.

      I have that option turned on, and set to be viewable by Admins and Moderators only. However, IP addresses still aren't visible. Actually, they aren't visible even if I set it so to viewable by anyone.

      postbit_ip is fine as far as I can tell, but is there anywhere else I can look in the templates to find out what's wrong?

        What happens when you click on the little computer ip icon on their post? That should bring you to a page with their ip an hostname stats.

                Ensure you have the code in red in your postbit and/or posbit_legacy template:

                Code:
                    <if condition="$show['reportlink']"><a href="report.php?$session[sessionurl]p=$post[postid]" rel="nofollow"><img class="inlineimg" src="$stylevar[imgdir_button]/report.gif" alt="$vbphrase[report_bad_post]" border="0" /></a> &nbsp;</if>
                            [COLOR=Red]$post[iplogged][/COLOR]
                            <if condition="$show['inlinemod']">
                            <input type="checkbox" name="plist[$postid]" id="plist_$postid" style="vertical-align:middle; padding:0px; margin:0px 0px 0px 5px" value="$post[checkbox_value]" />
                            </if>
                        </div>
                If that doesn't work, try creating a new style with no parent style. View your forum in that style and see if the IP Address button is there then.
                If so, then it is in fact a template issue.
                if not, then it is a modification or modified code that is causing the problem.
                Regards,
                Nick
