Activation ID questions...

Hi All,
Please clarify these doubts.

1) Which database table the Activation ID gets stored ?

2) When I resend the validation email to my pending members, will the Activation ID change with each resent email ? (Does a new Activation Id gets generated each time ?)

It's in the useractivation table and it is overwritten whenever a new activation email is requested.

Will it change if I resend the validation emails to pending members through 'Send Email to Users' feature and use $activatelink in the email.

Then the activation Id & activation link will remain same no matter how many times I resend the email. Right ?

And I don't understand the logic behind generating new activation id each time new activation email is requested. Then what if the user finds the old activation email and clicks the activation link ? That link will not be valid anymore. Right ?

No, it does not change in that example.

The choice seems logical to me but I cannot speak for the Devs.
