  • Doubleposting/Blank page

My issue is the message of double posting when using quick reply or a blank white page when using newreply.php or starting a new thread. (Thread or post still post, you just get a white page after submitting).

I do have modifications and disabled/uninstalled all, but was still getting the issue.

I disabled plugins/hooks via the vboptions and the issue went away.

My question is, can disabled or uninstalled plugins still cause me problems??

    Thanks

      Thanks!

My issue doesn't seem to persist when the entire hooks/plugins system is disabled. Things work fine.
However, if I just delete plugins or disable them all one by one the issue remains.

Also, I am using the latest version with all the original files.

No one knows if some parts of plugin still run when the plugin is uninstalled or disabled?

It could if you still have the file for that add-on in the 'includes/xml' directory.

I only have the original files in the includes/xml folder...
I deleted and reuploaded the xml folder, clientscript and admincp folders. Still having issues.

You cannot have this problem with the completely default vB.

To troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version and that none show 'File does not contain expected contents':

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

[Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]

                Next, disable all plugins.

Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

                define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?
