Hi Guys,
I have been maintaining a client's site using an early version of vB 3.6.x
I have the customer number but no idea the password or email address used to register or infact any other details as the client purchased it 3 years ago or thereabouts - it has just been running happily.
Now has come to the time when his site is being upgraded. Since the year's free upgrade on the previous licence is expired, I have just registered again and bought a new licence and customer number. I copy the 'forums' database over to the new server, and download the latest version. I configure config.php for the new server environment. If I copy the old 3.6.x directly over, logging in works fine. After I download the new software, it asks me for a customer number. I enter my new customer number as it chucks out the old one (because it only had a year's free upgrades?). After upgrading to latest version, login for all existing accounts fails.
Is this something to do with the customer numbers?
Thanks for your help!
Adam
