Usergroup Username HTML Markup

Ok, I have the Username HTML Markup working fine on the Admin / Moderators usergroups, but I have a custom Usergroup "Supporting Members" that I want to change the User Title and Username HTML Markup on. I make the changes in the correct field, but it does not change anything.

This custom usergroup is a "secondary" group to the primary, so I selected "Yes" for the "Can override primary group title/markup". Now, does that mean the user can change it themselves or that it will change it automatically.

Also, what about if a user is in two different "Secondary" groups. Which one would take precedence?

When the user belongs to multiple groups it will use the markup and title for their "display usergroup". The default display group is their primary group, but they can change it in their:

User CP -> Group Memberships

Or you can edit their profile in the Admin CP to change it for them, after which you need to rebuild the titles:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Update Counters

Hmm, ok, so to make the change I would have to do it for each user manually? Is there a way to do this programatically when the user subscribes to a paid subscription?

Ok, it looks like I want to use "Ranks" to do what I want. I'll play around with that.

Ok, scrap that, Ranks have the same limitation.

I guess maybe I need to rethink my group structure. These "secondary" groups seem to be more of a pain than they are worth.

Ranks can actually work independent of the display group, but you need to set the appropriate Display Type when editing the rank. And be sure to update the rank counters afterwards:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Update Counters
