No e-mail subscription notifications??

We've got an ongoing problem that has reoccurred several times over the years.

After we upgrade to a new version of Vbulletin our e-mail notifications work fine for a period of time.

Then, for no reason that I can find, no one (including new registration e-mail verification) receives any e-mail from the forum.

Upgrading to 3.7.0 solved the problem for about 2 months and now we are back to no notifications.

Suggestions?

We are hosted on edatarack.

vB uses the server for it's email. If there are problems, then the issue is either with the server itself or on the receiving end.

Update:

This may help others. It was actually an ATT/Bellsouth (my ISP) block. Here's info I recieved from another forum administrator...

"Once our DNS Server was brought back online, our PTR Record was removed from our server.

A PTR record is what lets someone do a "reverse" DNS lookup - that is, they have your IP address and want to know what your host/domain is.

The majority of Spammers who send unsolicited emails do not have a PTR record.

With that said, AT&T (Worldnet-BellSouth) has blocked emails that are being sent to you from the forum (thread subscriptions, PM notices, members emailing you, etc.). Without a PTR Record, they consider emails being sent to you from the forum as Spam.

I have sent AT&T / BellSouth an email explaining the situation and have asked them if they will lift the block.

Our PTR Record has been added back and hopefully in 2-3 days this issue will be resolved."
